Any IT / Excel Whizzes on here?
|
After wiping my knob on the keyboard and the screen to no avail, i wondered if anyone can help me out? Basically i need to try and extract some data from a website into a spreadsheet, the google searches and tips have me stumped so wondering if anyone knows how to do it / can give me a step by step tutorial

Clearly an internet problem.
Down to your local internet cafe with you and wipe your knob on any screens in use - and those using them, just to be sure.
Additionally, if you see anybody accessing the internet on their phones on the journey to the cafe, perform on them similar knob-wiping actions instantly.
If all that fails, wipe your knob on the tablet the policeman is using to collate your details as you are whisked off to the police station in the back of a Black Maria.

It really depends on the data. If it's a table that you want to come out in rows and columns but isn't doing it by normal copy and paste, then try copying again as normal, then go to Excel, right click on a cell, choose Paste Special and then choose Text, OK.

Fill half your screen up with the webpage, and then fill the other half of the screen up with excel.
Then just type what you see on the webpage into excel.

Copy and paste?
Do you want the data in a column or a line?
Did you wipe your knob vertically or horizontally across the screen?
Details.

Which website? Which page(s) of data?
Hard to answer without understanding more about the source.
